Черноморский флот является оперативно-стратегическим объединением ВМФ России, которое действует на Черном и Азовском морях, сообщает «Военный Паритет» со ссылкой на globalresearch.ca. История флота начинается в конце 18-го века, когда Россия боролась с Османской империей за господство на Черном море. Помимо России, береговые линии на Черном море имеют Украина, Румыния, Болгария, Грузия и Турция. ВМС Украины насчитывают 6-7 тыс военнослужащих со штабом в Одессе (до событий 2014 года их численность составляла 13 тыс чел). Румынский флот – 7 тыс чел, Болгарии – 3,5 тыс. Турция имеет самую длинную береговую линию, флот насчитывает 50 тыс военнослужащих (15 тыс контрактников и 35 тыс призывников). Страна контролирует два пролива, соединяющих Черное море со Средиземным, через которые проходят более 5500 танкеров с 2,9 млн баррелей нефти в день. ЧФ стал одним из основных военных активов России, особенно после присоединения Крыма. Кроме того, потенциал флота повышается силами Каспийской флотилии, которая может выходить в Черное море по Волго-Донскому каналу. Модернизация и расширение флота возможны, только если Россия будет экономически сильной державой.
